I was lucky enough to attend the NARM Convention last week. While I was thrilled to hear so many artists, labels and managers giving ReverbNation props for helping to advance their music careers or their artist’s careers, what excited me most was who I saw when I went to the Universal Music Group party.
As soon as I arrived, I saw this big poster board with a face I recognized. Kyler England from The Rescues.
Now signed to Universal/Republic, The Rescues were performing at the Convention in front of music industry insiders and big wigs. This was a great place for them to showcase their talent. I personally met Kyler two years ago at a Conference in Nashville, and it was awesome to see the growth of their career since then. The Rescues, and Kyler herself for her solo venture, have been using ReverbNation’s marketing tools ever since. Did our platform help with their career?
Well most importantly, to be successful, you have to be great. Not just good, but great. And they are. But since they started using our Fan Management system (FanReach), our My Band Facebook Application, and some of our viral widgets, I’ve certainly seen their fan base grow by leaps and bounds. So sure, ReverbNation isn’t the only reason Kyler and The Rescues have seen success, but there’s no doubting our marketing platform helped along the way.
Kyler, as a solo artist, participated in the Windows Playlist 7 campaign and Windows Sponsored Songs Program at ReverbNation. These programs led to mass exposure with hundreds of thousands of people she might not have otherwise reached. Not to mention she made some extra cash off those programs too. That excites me.
Another artist, Marina V, told us in February that she raised $30,000 from her fans for her upcoming record! Marina is another artist who uses FanReach and most of our other marketing tools. The depth of the relationships she has built with her fans has become invaluable to her success. I’ve seen her fan base increase exponentially since the day we met. She also earned some money in our Windows Playlist 7 campaign, and that excites me.
Last year, The Clintons used the data from their ReverbNation profile to broker a sponsorship deal on their own. They showed a brand how many real fans they had, where they lived, and other demographics that helped convince the brand to write a check. The brand was able to recognize that The Clintons’ fans were exactly what they were looking for in their target demographic. The days of brands paying bands to hang a banner with a logo are over. They want to see data they can trust to ensure the right exposure. The Clintons could offer this specific brand that opportunity through the use of our platform, and that excites me.
I’m also excited about the numerous indie labels and management companies that vouched for ReverbNation in helping to streamline their promotional and fan management efforts. Many marketing and publicity companies use our marketing platform to promote bands they are hired to promote. It’s great to see that type of enthusiasm for our tools, and that excites me.
Additionally, here’s what some others had to say about our new Artist Submission Platform:
“This submission platform is going to change the industry forever. ReverbNation has approached it from the Festival Operator’s perspective and delivered an unparalleled system.”
-Brian Waymire, RedGorillaFestival
“I’ve never seen anything like it in the 14 years we’ve done submissions for Ernie Ball. It’s truly revolutionary.”
–Brian Ball, Ernie Ball Guitar Strings and Accessories
Don’t ever let anyone tell you to stop doing what you love. If you’re great at it, you will succeed in this business. ReverbNation’s platform is here to help you achieve your goals, just ask artist Tori Sparks:
“I think ReverbNation could become popular without going the extra mile to try and help out indie musicians, but they do it anyway. That’s what sets them apart, in terms of the way they approach their business.”
- Tori Sparks, Artist
We have many success stories. Are you one of them? Please let us know.
