August 18, 2011 (Durham, NC) – ReverbNation, the leading provider of marketing, promotion and social media tools for over 1.7 million artists and music industry professionals, today announced the acquisition of GigMaven, a technology provider for venues, promoters and festivals. The acquisition expands ReverbNation’s capabilities to better serve the live performance community, and enhances the most recent venue-related offerings from ReverbNation, including their innovative Facebook application, Venue Profile.

“GigMaven has been at the forefront of developing technology that connects artists and venues,” said Mike Doernberg, CEO of ReverbNation. “They have a highly talented team and we are fortunate to have them join our ranks.”

GigMaven helps artists and venues book gigs online, sell tickets and promote their gigs via social media.  As ReverbNation continues to expand its music ecosystem, the addition of GigMaven underscores the company’s commitment to the live performance space and the 20,000+ venues, promoters and festivals that already use ReverbNation.

“We started GigMaven to help artists and venues book gigs with the aim of facilitating and improving the overall live music ecosystem,” said Howard Han, CEO/Founder of GigMaven.  “We are very excited to continue our mission with ReverbNation, whose scale and commitment to the live space made this a natural fit and an easy decision.”
