Perform for 10k music lovers at The Big Ticket 2013
Location: Jacksonville, FL Genre(s): Alternative, Blues, Metal, Rock, Americana, Indie, Jam, Punk and Christian Rock
More than 10,000 music fans will flock to Jacksonville, Florida for The Big Ticket this December. This is your chance to play on the same bill as Stone Temple Pilots, Thirty Seconds to Mars, A Day to Remember, Jimmy Eat World, The Dirty Heads, Pepper, Manchester Orchestra, Twenty One Pilots, Frank Turner, Sleeping With Sirens and more! The promoters at Danny Wimmer Presents will select one ReverbNation act to take the stage at Metropolitan Park in front of new fans, managers, agents and music executives.
Clay Busch of Danny Wimmer Presents said, “ReverbNation is always at the forefront of what’s new, what’s fresh and what’s next. This is a great way for us to find upcoming and undiscovered talent who are going to be the future of their genre for many years to come!”
You’ve got heart, kids! Thanks to your help, we now have over 100,000 artists supporting Music For Good. An idea that started 10 months ago has turned into a movement, and one that has built some amazing relationships between charities and independent artists. We could tell you all about it, or you could watch for yourself in this video below:
100,000 artists joining in 10 months to help 13 charities. Pretty great, right? We think so, and we are excited to see how Music For Good will continue to grow.
Special thanks to all of the charities who are a part of Music For Good!
We want you to celebrate with us! If you watched the video above, you probably have a good idea of how we’re sharing the good news with our friends, family and fans: Through a campaign we’re calling “100,000 Hearts.” Since you’ve put so much heart into Music For Good, we want you to show us your heart! And, no, we don’t mean like this:
We were thinking something more like this!
Take a picture of you “showing your heart” in any way that you choose. Then, post your photo to Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, or our Facebook timeline using the hashtag #100kHearts. We’ll retweet your tweets to our 200,000+ followers and you’ll join thousands of other artists in celebrating this fantastic accomplishment. Be on the lookout for a brand new Pinterest board with a collection of all the 100,000 Hearts submissions!
While we could talk all day about how great the program is and how great all of you are, we’ll let our artists and charity partners speak for themselves! Take a look at the quotes below to see how this program has made a difference in the lives of those involved. And if you aren’t on Music For Good, check it out and consider becoming a part of the program today!
Bob Ferguson, Creative Alliances & Music Outreach Project Manager, Oxfam America: “Oxfam America is incredibly excited at the growth of ReverbNation’s Music For Good initiative. Through MFG, Oxfam has over 8000 artists pledging their support and music to us, and that’s the kind of loud noise we love!”
Christy Turlington, Founder, Every Mother Counts: “Through ReverbNation’s Music for Good, 2000 musicians and bands are now spreading the word about Every Mother Counts, which allows us to reach wider audiences with our mission. By sharing these universal stories, we bring more global awareness to maternal health challenges and solutions. Together, we can make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all moms.”
Scott Harrison, CEO and founder, charity: water: “The Music for Good program through ReverbNation allows us to connect with different types of artists. Being a charity partner has allowed us to tap into a unique, new demographic we have not previously been able to reach, creating a relationship where artists can use their gift for good and bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries.”
Mike Peters, Co-Founder, Love Hope Strength & international touring musician with The Alarm and Big Country: “Through ReverbNation’s life affirming Music For Good campaign we have not only raised much needed dollars, but we have also engaged thousands of artists in our mission to ‘save lives one concert at a time’ by registering marrow donors at artists’ concerts.”
Toby Lightman, ReverbNation artist and supporter of Half the Sky Movement: “Being a part of Music For Good has been an amazing experience, and has allowed me to learn about and support a charity I knew nothing about previously. It’s an indescribable feeling knowing that your music not only entertains people from around the world, but goes towards a greater good and is a part of something bigger.”
Jed Carlson, President and Co-Founder, ReverbNation: “It’s obvious that well-known musicians, like Bono and Willie Nelson, can influence fans to connect with great causes. What’s so gratifying about Music For Good is the confirmation that independent artists in the aggregate can affect the same behavior. In fact, Music For Good really surpassed our expectations in terms of both artist participation and global significance. What started as an idea — downloads that donate — has evolved into a movement, one that establishes and nurtures philanthropic mindsets. It’s reinforced the premise that independent musicians have influence that can lead to real impact.”

Hoping to get your music discovered and looking for ways to get your motor running? Start your engines today by entering the FIAT® Band Prix for a chance to win a national appearance on VH1’s Top 20 Video Countdown, a free trip to Miami, a cash prize and a FIAT-sponsored Google+ Hangout!
The FIAT brand, with the help of ReverbNation, is tapping the talented ReverbNation community to find the next big hit. Any artist can submit their original tracks for FREE for the chance to win exposure on national television and awesome prizes. Even better, the winner of the FIAT Band Prix will have two big brands backing them. Act fast! Voting begins on October 17th and ends on October 31st.
Preparing for the race to your big break is simple (no motor oil or gasoline involved)! Visit the FIAT Band Prix page and follow the instructions on-page. You’ll need a ReverbNation account, but you do not have to have a press kit to subscribe to this opportunity. Another important note is that the FIAT brand is seeking the best artists in five main genres: Rock, Pop/Dance, Urban, Country, and Alternative. However, you don’t have to fit squarely in one of these genres to submit for consideration. For the best chance at being selected, choose the genre that most closely aligns with your submission song. Entrants must reside in one of the 48 contiguous states – sorry artists in Alaska and Hawaii!
Here’s how to enter:
Go to the FIAT Band Prix page and use your ReverbNation account to sign up and submit your best original song by October 31st. If you don’t have an account, no worries! You can create one today, and it takes only minutes to set up. You’ll need to make sure that you have uploaded the song that you would like to submit for consideration. Your song will be featured on the FIAT USA Facebook page.
Do everything you can to spread the word and get your fans to vote by downloading your song for free from the FIAT USA Facebook page. Fans, you’re a lucky bunch. You’re able to download as much FREE music from the Facebook page as you’d like.
The 50 artists (10 from each music genre) with the most votes will advance to the next round. The judges from the FIAT brand will select one band from the top 50 to receive the ultimate ticket to the big time: a national TV appearance on VH1’s Top 20 Video Countdown airing on December 14th.
Making it to the Winner’s Circle
The contest begins on October 17 at 10 a.m. ET, and ends on November 21, 2013. Here’s how it works:
October 17 – October 31: You and other artists submit songs from your ReverbNation profile
November 5 – November 19: Your fans have two weeks to like the FIAT USA Facebook page and vote for you by downloading your song. During the two-week period, each download will count for a vote and each fan may vote for a song once. Fans may vote for as many different songs as they like. The top 50 songs, which will be the 10 songs with the highest votes within each genre, will advance to the next round.
November 20 – November 21: This will serve as the judging period after fans have made their voice heard. Since there can only be one grand prize winner and four runners-up, the FIAT brand will have their judges make their top picks from the initial 50. Winners will be chosen based on creativity, production quality and musicianship and will be announced on the final day of judging.
December 14: The grand finale! This is the date that the winner will be featured on the VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown!
We think the grand prizes are even better than a cup or trophy. The grand prize winner will receive:
A trip to Miami on December 6th to film an appearance on VH1’s Top 20 Video Countdown airing on December 14th
$5,000 towards new gear
A Google+ Hangout sponsored and promoted by the FIAT brand
Ultimate bragging rights and awesome news to share with your fans
The four runners-up will receive$3,000 and a Google+ Hangout sponsored and promoted by the FIAT brand. The top 50 artists will receive a one-year subscription to Reverb Pro, including digital distribution (iTunes, Amazon, etc.), FanReach Pro, MegaSong Storage, Press Kits, and Pro Widgets.
Rally Your Fans
The best way to improve your chances of crossing the finish line is to tell your friends, family and fans about the contest! Remember, anyone is allowed to vote as long as they like the FIAT USA Facebook page, and since this competition is all about music discovery, we want them to hear new music! They can download as many songs as they would like from the Facebook page. You can use any of your social networks to promote your entry, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and, of course, word of mouth. To assist you, we’re building banners directly into your ReverbNation widgets, artist profile, band profile app, and FanReach email template; the banner redirects your fans to the app and automatically puts your song at the top! You’ll also have a chance to get the word out via a tweet that we have suggested on the confirmation page of your submission. It looks something like this:
Just entered the @FIATUSA #BandPrix for a chance to appear on VH1! Voting begins Nov 5. Spread the word! http://rvrb.fm/16eobPs
Don’t forget, the more votes you get, the better your chances of winning great prizes, including an appearance on VH1!
