News: Wakarusa Festival Selects Three ReverbNation Bands to Perform

Back in November, we announced that through our partnership with Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival, bands could submit to play at this grassroots music classic completely free of charge for the first time in the festival’s history.

“An unbelievable amount of artists submitted to play at Wakarusa this year through ReverbNation,” said Brett Mosiman, co-founder and director of Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival. “We were blown away by the overall talent that we reviewed through these last few weeks. Only picking three artists was as difficult of a task as we’ve had.”

Listen share and like 4onthefloor, Sumilan and Eitch. They deserve it.

4onthefloor, self-proclaimed “stompin’ blues” band from Minneapolis, MN:

Sumilan, rock/progressive band from Athens, GA:

Eitch, she playfully describes herself as “altronipop” from New York, NY:

What will they receive?
– Compensation for their performance.
– Great exposure playing in front of more than 15,000 festival attendees.

Who will they share stages with?
2012 Lineup: Pretty Lights ~ The Avett Brothers ~ Primus ~ Weir, Robinson, & Greene Acoustic Trio ~ Umphrey’s McGee ~ Slightly Stoopid ~ Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros ~ Girl Talk ~ Fitz & the Tantrums ~ Matisyahu ~ G. “Wakarusa is about the music. We spend a lot of time and energy putting great regional talent on our lineup. Each year 20-30 slots are reserved for Waka Winter Classic bands and other young talents as a building block onto the national music scene,” states Wakarusa founder, Brett Mosiman. He adds that “[Wakarusa] is a great platform for bands to grow, and we’re very excited about our new partnership with ReverbNation as we continue to look for the best music out there; no matter how big or small.”

“We are very excited to be working with Wakarusa and providing our artists with such a great opportunity,” said Howard Han with ReverbNation’s Live group.  “In addition, we applaud Wakarusa for recognizing the financial realities bands face and their shift from a paid to a free submission.”
