So many amazing things come out of Belgium; waffles, chocolate, and slightly less cliche but equally as awesome, OTON. This Brussels-based duo is known for their modern day take on the classic late 90’s jazzy trip-hop. It’s a decadent mix of smooth synths aided by lead singer Sasha Vovk and her rhythmic riffs on guitar.
The pair released their EP “Seasons” earlier this year and it has since reached more than 20k plays. Seeing as though people couldn’t get enough, they decided to put together a slew of live videos for our viewing pleasure (and we are so glad they did!).
In my humble, intern opinion, the translation from recording to live performance is flawless, and the level of control displayed by both Vovk with her delicate vocals and on point tone as well as Langlois with his smooth integration of the base-y synths and beats is unmatched.
“Slow,” part of their EP “Seasons,” will leave you hanging on every word, and their live rendition is not to be missed. They undoubtedly have big things in the mix, so stay tuned for more.
